"My Life Tattoos" was started on the concept that people like to tell others about their stories, struggles and triumphs. One of the most powerful ways to tell a story and express individuality is through permenant pictures on your body. So when people ask our customers, "what does that tattoo mean," they can respond back, "This is 'My Life,' my story, and this is what I'm about." We're just here to help you interperet your story through tattoos.
Our shop is made up of two brothers, Joe Ink and C-Note, who started down different paths only to end up on the same one by accident. Neither one of us grew up with the intent of ever even getting into tattoos. So to be sitting here everyday working side by side, doing something we love is an unexpected blessing that we're very thankful for!
We both worked different jobs and would come home to do tattoos at night. After five years of working for other people and saving all our money, we finally found a shop that was just the right size, just the right price, and in the neighborhood we grew up in. It took over a hundred hours of setting up and more than a few thousand dollars to rennovate the shop to what it is now. We opened up our doors for business in August of 2006 and don't ever plan on closing them!
We are a hip hop based shop that does almost all 100% custom tattoos. We don't believe in flash, so our walls and ceilings are covered with pictures of the work that we've already done. The concept that we try to pass along to our customers is individuality. Why get something that someone already has? People don't like to see others wearing the same clothes, shoes, or hairstyles. And those are all temporary things that wear out. So why get a permanant tattoo that someone else already has? We tell people to come up with a written or verbal concept and we'll translate it into a tattoo design. So that way, you'll be walking around with something completely unique to who you are and not fifty thousand other people with the same tattoo.
